Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using SiteLens ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Alcyone AI Ltd, trading as SiteLens ("SiteLens", "we", "us").

2. Description of service

SiteLens aggregates publicly available UK planning application data from local authority planning portals, classifies it using AI, and provides search, alerting, and analytics tools. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with tiered access levels.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when registering.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • One account per person. You may not share account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All prices are in GBP and exclusive of VAT where applicable.

  • Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel at any time via the billing portal in your account settings.
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
  • The free Explorer tier is available indefinitely at no cost with usage limits applied.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • Systematically extract, scrape, or bulk-download planning data for redistribution or resale.
  • Circumvent any access controls, rate limits, or authentication mechanisms.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or any disruptive code.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Access the Service using automated means except via our official API (where available).

6. Data accuracy

Planning application data is sourced from public council portals and is provided for informational purposes only. SiteLens does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data. You should verify important information directly with the relevant local planning authority before making commercial or legal decisions.

7. Intellectual property

The SiteLens platform, software, design, and brand are owned by Alcyone AI Ltd. Planning application data is public record and is not owned by SiteLens. Our AI-generated summaries and classifications are proprietary. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from SiteLens content without our prior written consent.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SiteLens shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to SiteLens in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, security incidents, or circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to give advance notice of planned maintenance.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we cease to operate the Service. You may delete your account at any time via the settings page. On termination, your access to the Service ends immediately.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
